The start to the WNBA’s 30th anniversary season, which reached its quarter-way point this week, has been intriguing to say the least.
How to watch Caitlin Clark’s next game.
How to watch the Dallas Wings play the Washington Mystics this Monday.

A month into the WNBA season and there has been a strong effort from the two new expansion teams in Toronto and Portland. Building off the success of Golden State last season as an expansion franchise, the two new teams are in the middle of the standings. Toronto (6-5) has beaten Los Angeles.
Caitlin Clark’s game-winning 3-pointer against Washington raised an immediate question: How did a player known for her shooting get so open with the game on the line? “You got to do whatever you can until the final buzzer, and we just came up short one possession there,” coach Sydney Johnson said after Monday’s loss to Clark’s Indiana Fever. Clark’s shot with 1.2 seconds left came after Washington had erased a 17-point second-half deficit to go ahead by one.
Just a few minutes into the Seattle Storm’s 2026 home opener, Dominique Malonga taught teammate Natisha Hiedeman something new during a TV timeout. On the videoboard at Climate Pledge Arena, the 6-foot-6 Malonga could be seen wagging her lanky right index finger and yelling the French phrase “Pas chez moi,” which roughly translates to “Not in my house.” One year removed from being named to the 2025 WNBA All-Rookie Team, Malonga gave a basic French lesson to thousands of chuckling fans.
Caitlin Clark was alone with the ball, right in the front of the logo with the game on the line. As frustrating as this season has been at times for her and the Indiana Fever, this was Clark’s comfort zone — and the shot hit nothing but net. Clark’s 3-pointer with 1.2 seconds remaining gave Indiana a 78-76 victory over the Washington Mystics on Monday night — and gave the 24-year-old star a signature moment following a rocky stretch at the start of her third season.
Breanna Stewart scored 28 points, including a key putback with 24.8 seconds left, Han Xu had 14 points in her first career WNBA start, and the New York Liberty beat the Connecticut Sun 89-80 on Monday night. Xu started in place of Jonquel Jones, who was a late scratch because of an illness. Jones, who spent six years with the Sun before coming to New York in 2023, had her No. 35 jersey retired by Connecticut before the game.
